Wellness and Healthcare

There will be a wellness system that serves the needs of the patient using all valid modalities of healing: allopathic, homeopathic and energy healing. This will be an integrated and cooperative health practice that is holistic and focuses on the recovery and health of the patient. The second goal is to find a substitute for the broken healthcare system in this country.

Fluoride: mass medication with vast consequences

So more and more information keeps coming out about fluoride and its impact on human health. Fluoride is implicated in all sorts of health problems, from thyroid disease and early onset puberty (which is on the rise, if you haven't followed those stories), as well as lower I.Q. in children exposed to it. It is implicated in Alzheimer's disease and bone fractures in the elderly. Check out a condition called skeletal fluorosis or dental fluorosis... It is a known neurotoxin, yet newborns and infants are exposed to it from day one when it is mixed into their formula and other food. And the idea of fluoride's benefits in preventing tooth decay is, itself, starting to develop cavities, according to many sources.

If you flip over the package of fluoride toothpaste, there is a warning there. It tells you to call the Poison Control Center if you swallow more than a trace! You know how those commercials always show people slathering a beautiful S-shaped curlicue of toothpaste on the brush before lathering it up in the mouth? The recommended "dose" of toothpaste is actually the size of a pea. Most of us have grown up using no less than 4 times that amount. I also grew up receiving little cups of it every week at school, and more at the dentist. Consider how much fluoride this means that most of us have swallowed. As a swallowing disorders specialist, I can tell you, you swallow more toothpaste than you may think you do (both initially and when the coating in your mouth mixes later with your saliva). It's no wonder we are such a mess. Okay, I know there are lots more reasons than just the fluoride, but this one has to be a biggie -- it's mass medication by our government, which is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Lots of communities are joining the movement to end fluoridation of municipal water supplies. More than 250 communities have ended their fluoridation use in the U.S. since 1990 (this fact according to www.mercola.com). The Fluoride Action Network is working with lots of legislators in Canada and the U.S., promoting legislation to end the practice. Canada's water supply is already 60% non-fluoridated, and Calgary recently outlawed it in their city, so they are way ahead in the game. Three major cities in the U.S.: New York City, Austin (Texas) and San Diego (California) have legislation in the works.

Anyhoo, my vote is: no fluoride in Gaiaville.

I feel very confident that the rest of America will catch up. This is going to be another chemical that the next generation scratches their heads and asks, "What were you thinking?"
